It was morning,
and the new sun sparkled gold
across the ripples of a gentle sea
You have the freedom to be yourself,
your true self,
here and now,
and nothing can stand in your way
your true self,
here and now,
and nothing can stand in your way
We can lift ourselves out of ignorance,
we can find ourselves as creatures
of excellence
and intelligence
and skill
we can find ourselves as creatures
of excellence
and intelligence
and skill
For most gulls, it is not flying that matters, but eating.
For this gull, though,
it was not eating that mattered,
it was not eating that mattered,
but flight
He was not bone and feather
but a perfect idea of
freedom and flight,
limited by nothing at all
but a perfect idea of
freedom and flight,
limited by nothing at all
Don’t believe what your eyes are telling you.
All they show is limitation.
Look with your understanding
All they show is limitation.
Look with your understanding
Jonathan Seagull discovered that boredom and fear
and anger are the reasons that a gull’s life is so short,
and with these gone from his thoughts,
he lived a long fine life indeed.

You just found a good bunch of guys for you..When ever I try to photograph them, they always run and scatter around..Love your gulls..
ReplyDeleteThese are well-fed (fish and chips) - so are rather sluggish by the end of the day!! Fxx
DeleteYour photos are inspirational, Francesca. I'm just catching up on the blog world after being away, and absolutely love these seagull pics (the second from the top I'd like to have blown up and framed somewhere I could see it every day!), as well as your Greek fishing boats and the instagram views of Sydney - really fantastic, thanks for posting these.
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen - excuse my tardiness in replying - have been in Bali for last couple of weeks - another great place for photos! The seagulls were so unexpected - I thought they would all fly away - but then realised that it was the end of the day and they were well-fed - fish and chips courtesy of the late swimmers (not the best diet I am sure)- so they just stood on the shore line and posed. So glad you like my 'views' of the world. F xx
