They stand like silent sentinels
guarding the shore at low tide
Like the shells of a giant insect
Discarded at a moment's notice for a midnight swim.
Upright and proud
and braced in iron against the wind
The little dinghies of Folly Point have a new home.
They are tidier now.
But I far prefer they way they used to
prop up the trees and idle around with gay abandon
Do we have to clean up everything?
But I far prefer they way they used to
prop up the trees and idle around with gay abandon
Do we have to clean up everything?

Boats are not kept that way around here! Funny to see other methods, even if the way of life seems quite the same.
ReplyDelete...A great subject beautifully photographed Francesca.

That last shot is gorgeous, for the boats and the threatening skies in the distant. The boats are arranged as one would park a bike... how interesting!

I think I must agree with you. Not everything has to be so tidy!! Leaning against the trees sounds like my kind of composition.
