Musings on summer, sailing and swimming

Sabres sit in anticipation of the next race

Some seek essential shade from the scorching sun

For the hotfooted, shoes are superfluous on the sand

The sun and the salt leave their indelible mark

A beautiful squid becomes bait for the children fishing from the pier

Going ....

.... going....

....gone....

....  and back again!

Some just paddle

Sweet summer may your colours never change!

Iconic Sydney

It's a weekday evening, it's too hot for the kitchen and we need to eat.
So we bundle ourselves into the car for a short drive to Kirribilli

We grab a bottle of wine and fish and chips and
picnic on the lawn under the bridge as we watch the sun go down ....

Boats in all shapes and sizes come and go....
some even manage to dwarf the Sydney Opera House

.... as dusk falls we walk across the green to Luna Park ....

.... where we re-kindle the child within .....

....and as night falls we head home ....
revived, refreshed and re-invogorated ....

.... for we've picnicked and savoured the very best of Sydney

Ode to Otis

I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away ....

Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time ....
