Shoelaces...a rite of passage!

Where were you when you first learnt to tie your shoelaces?

Take that first big step from babyhood to childhood...

 Assert your independence...

Claim your first rite of passage?

Well done Lucy...
So happy to have shared this with you and this will be a day you will always remember.

  1. What a touching post and how observant of you to realize what a rite of passage such a (non) simple act can show. I hadn't thought about that perspective before and it is charming - and very well illustrated!

  2. Thank you Jackie - watching her hands deftly work their way around the shoelaces was a delight ... and then when she actually managed to tie them on her own, she was over the moon. Then I realised how important an event it was in her life, and our lives for that matter! F x

  3. I just found your blog and your delightful post. Truly, it is an accomplishment for a wee one. I have 4 grandchildren – 3 boys 7, 5 and 2 years old and a baby granddaughter of 8 months. I think the two oldest boys can tie their shoes, but I am not sure about the 2 years old! As for me, I just can’t remember, but I for sure I was in our flat in Paris.

  4. Quite lovely and such a lucky little girl to have you as her auntie Fran! Hugs

  5. Cutie !
Hope your new year will be filled with such tender moments Francesca....sending you a big hug from Andalusia
ps : it must be summer where you are...i envy you !

  6. I can still remember the day my sister, 10 years older, taught me to tie mine :) Lovely little post Fran.

  7. Lovely post, Francesca!
(I've been gone for a while, but I'm on my way back now...:) a new and fresh Single woman! )

I love reading your comments - so please feel free to add something. Thank you! F x
