Under the Frangipani tree

I have a secret place which none knows


Where I escape to when it's all too hot and bothered...


A place where I can see  through rain drops


To the grace and grandeur of pink-tipped petticoats with golden hearts


Where the air is intoxicatingly sweet with perfume from sun-kissed petals


Which mass in a flurry of artistic perfection...


...again, and again and again in an umbrella of beauty and elegance.


Life beneath my Frangipani tree...


Is summer's seductive and sensual glory...


And all in all... too short-lived
But never short-loved.

    The beautify of the flowers is amazing..!

      Thank you, It is absolutely stunning Kosta - the flowers and the scent is beautiful and synonymous with summers in Australia. Fx

    Oh Francesca,

    You have presented one of my favourite flowers in the world, my beloved frangipani, and you are blessed to have such a flourishing tree! I can imagine that heavenly, sweet and exotic scent; pure bliss!! I have tried twice, with two tiny trees, but have had no luck yet. I know these flowers need at least 8 hours of sunlight a day, which they do get, but I am afraid that the strong winds up here on top of the hill, are just too much for them. Waiting to see what happens this summer. Thanks for sharing your dreamy darlings today...they are stunning!

      Thank you Poppy. I know exactly what you mean - I have a very cantankerous plant in a pot which does very little. However, other, once they take hold they are very hardy and such a summer delight. Fx

    I've learned much from this, including the name of the flower we call the plumeria is also called the Frangipani! And that app is a fantastic one! Will have to try it out. Beautiful post, as always.

    Beautiful combination of words and pictures, Francesca. I lived in the Caribbean for a year in 2012, and the smell of the frangipani flower is one of my favourite memories. Your post really brought it back to me, so thank you!
