The Architecture of the Arch

Santorini ....
 the epitome of the architecture of the arch


Deftly hanging from the rock face
 

Or lapping at the Aegean  ....


....  often interrupting and softening


.... and challenging the view!


It demands attention


.... creates drama


.... framing from within


 and framing from without!

The architecture of the arch ....


.... forms simple lines


.... joyfully plays with light and shade

... and is visually,
such a pleasure!

  6. fabulous images and I see why the arch fascinates us, we had a vaulted ceiling at Borga Nari and I couldn't imagine how the owners made such a thing. See you in a few days, can't wait! ciao lisa x
