Spring Poppies at the Acropolis

                                       Marble stained with the blood of history...

                                    Every spring a reminder of what has passed. 

    

             

                     

                              As if the shadows beneath force their way through the ages

                                 In the form of the delicate poppy dancing on their graves.

                                     

                                      

                                         The poppies at the Acropolis frolic in the sun,

                                  

                                              

                                              Nestled amongst the weeds and ruins...

                                   

                              

                                   A ruby reminder of those brave souls we can't forget...

   

         

                                                         We must never forget.
